India Influence
Nepalese politicians have often been accused of prioritizing Indian interests, compromising Nepal’s sovereignty. For example, the Mahakali Treaty signed in 1996 involved sharing water resources from the Mahakali River between Nepal and India. Many critics argue that the treaty disproportionately benefits India, with Nepali politicians allegedly accepting personal gains in exchange for signing the deal. The border disputes in areas like Susta and Kalapani also fuel claims of politicians being too lenient with India, allowing territorial encroachments for personal or political benefits.
China Influence
China has also been accused of buying influence in Nepal, especially through investments in large infrastructure projects, such as those under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Some politicians are accused of signing deals that favor Chinese companies, often at the expense of Nepal’s own long-term economic or environmental interests. Allegations of political leaders accepting bribes or kickbacks for approving Chinese-funded projects are rampant. There are also concerns that Nepal's neutrality is being compromised as politicians court Chinese influence to balance India's dominance.
ABOUT THIS SITE
Nepal's political system violates the core values that many of us uphold. But politicians, like major corporations, operate under a veil of secrecy, making it difficult for even the most informed citizens to keep track of their misdeeds. This allows them to manipulate the public and remain in power, despite their actions.

The goal of this project is to 'lift the curtain' and provide the transparency the people of Nepal deserve. This website is a free, accessible resource that exposes politicians and their crimes so that citizens can make informed decisions. While this issue extends beyond individual politicians, many stand as prominent contributors to the decay of Nepal’s political landscape.

For the sake of openness, this project is fully transparent and open-source, allowing anyone to view (and contribute to) here. I'd also like to give credit to the innovative projects that inspired this effort, including Peoplecott by Charles Stover & the Boycott Coco-Cola campaign.

Stay up-to-date and let’s unite to expose and hold corrupt politicians responsible!
